(Free style) is a monthly event in the beautiful
Discoteca ON
in Lorqui, just outside Murcia, with artists and Dj's
doing all kinds of electronics starting at 00.00 hours and ending around....
next day Sunday.

The Opiates Candy Coated Crime on GIGOLO's compilation ELEVEN by DJ Hell. Out March 2009.
Supposedly, Gigolo Records boss DJ Hell took over a year to select the tracks on the label's forthcoming Eleven compilation.
Titled so because it's the 11th in Gigolo's ongoing series of unmixed comps, the double-disc is, according to the Gigolo website, "a celebration of the label's avant-garde and legendary roster," compiled for "fans and fanatics of the Mega-church of Gigolo." and features tracks from Lopazz, Peter Kruder, Acid Junkies, and Hell himself. There's even an instrumental version of Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black" by Herman Schwartz.

-CURRENT- Planet Origo, Origo Sounds new internet store is about to open. In the event we are planning on releasing a Current compilation album. It will be an MP3/FLAC album only. The album will contain tracks from all Current albums which sums ups Currents releases for the last 10 years, + a new track that Robert is working on at the moment! More news about this event very soon! If you have a favourite track that you think should be on the compilation, we would love to have your feedback, so just reply to this mail. -AKKURATD → ROBERT SOLHEIM AkkuratD is now officially known as Robert Solheim. He is working on a new album and as we have mentioned before, this is much more upbeat than any other release but with the typical Current sound lurking in the background. He is also continuing his DJing in Spain and has become a member of Ocio Exterior: http://www.myspace.com/ocioexterior. Ocio Exterior is best described as a DJ collective and sprung out of Bar Ocio, where Robert started his DJ sessions in Spain a couple of years ago. Ocio Exterior had their first big party two weeks ago on three different locations in Murcia: Bar Ocio, Club Moss and ON Discoteca. A 12 hour non-stop electronic music party. Robert is preparing a show together with Miguel Angel Canovas to present his new work. Miguel Angel Canovas, aka Depresor, will do visuals, among others, from Roberts birthplace Averoy in Norway. Needless to say, the sea will be a key element. -AQUAVIT- Aquavit is going to present their album Telepatia in Murcia early next year. Michael is preparing some wonderful visuals for the presentation. Billie and Robert have decided that they will not continue to work together anymore. That said; the album “Hollywood under the knife” will probably be released since the album is finished! The Opiates will be performing their first gig at Rough Trade record store in Brick Lane in London in a month or two. For the event, they will also be releasing a limited edition 4 track EP.
The long avaited Aquavit CD Telepatia is beeing printed as we write, exact release date is not sey yet. Back soon with more.
Robert has been DJing as
AkkuratD quite a bit lately and last weekend he had a session at
Gorrion Party playing his
favourite 80s new wave and synth-pop tracks. Big success and we are already
talking about repeating it soon. He is continuing his techno/minimal/electro
sessions on various clubs in Murcia; Ocio, Moss, La General and is constantly
looking for new places to play.

Current; “The Dream Cabinet” now available at
JunoRecords in England and Snocap at
Currents myspace page. Rubeck has done a great club-remix
of Origin Unknown from Dream Cabinet called Origin unknown (rubeck’s
synth twin remix), this track and other remixes will be
available soon on Juno as well as Snocap. You can listen to this
electro-house mix at

Aquavit (Michael Snyder/Eidetaker and Robert); mixing is finished and they are moving on to the mastering process which means they are getting closer to the release, we are very excited about that!
So, AkkuratD (Robert) has made a remix for Azam Ali, of the track “41 ways” from the album ELYSIUM FOR THE BRAVE (also known for the music for the film “300”). Her record company loved it and have asked for permission to use it. The track "41 ways (fourtooneway remix)" will be available for listening on AkkuratD´s officially my space page, which will be available in a couple of weeks.
“The Dream Cabinet” is now on rotation on Subsonic Temple, “Your underground music sanctuary”. A great radio station for chills, down-tempo and deep-house. Worth checking out also is Origo Sounds new my space/Cd Baby profile. They have taken over the distribution of Currents releases Communion, Ghost Trip, Musik and Enter The Dreamat Cd Baby. Aquavit is in the final production stage of their debut CD. Stay tuned for more news soon. Samples and information on the official Aquavit myspace.
Robert has started working on a new project called Akkurat D,
musically as well as a DJ.
His own sanctuary for letting out other sides of electronic
music; tech-house, minimal, techno and then some…. A new place
with music samples available in April.
“The Discovery”
from “The Dream Cabinet” has been chosen to air in
Lounging Sound’s new featured show called “Serve
Chilled”.
The first run of this mixed set will be this week: Friday, February
16th @
7PM Central.

2006 turned out to be a very good year for Current.
To sum up the best parts; “underCURRENTs” came out as number 4 in
JPF music awards in the ambient album section. "A cotton pickers dream"
and "Conversations" on
Dj Friendlys list of "Best chillout trax 2006", as well as he have
played tracks from the CD almost every weekend since it came out. "The Dream
Cabinet" were number 22 on Echoes "Top 25 essential
Echoes CD´s 2006", as well as it was number 6 on the November top 25
list. The album has been played as well as received great feedback from
several radio stations and pod casts around the world, to name a few:
BBSRadio,
Lounging Sound,
coming up on
Yellow Beat
radio (Japan), with it’s own presentation and Current available now on
CDJam (a
shop like Cd Baby) in Japan. Also check out new critics from Dene Bebbington
here at the bottom of the page; “It should appeal widely to EM and
ambient fans.”
As you may know now, Robert is working on another project with Michael Snyder (eidetaker, who also made the cover for The Dream Cabinet) called Aquavit. Check out the music and the visuals here. The story about the project is kind of special, how it came about and how they work through the internet. It’s all there on their officially myspace page. Aquavit has also been played on Dj Fiendly several times already. They are working on the debut album which will be available some time in 2007.

2006)) and "Waking up slowly" (best ambient track) came in as number 4.
Not bad considering there where artist from over 70 countries and 350 000
tracks!!
